Steve has been closely associated with the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for over 10 years. Possibly, one of the world's most famous motor vehicles, Chitty is lovingly owned by Pierre Picton. Pierre played a pivotal role maintaining the car during filming and also acted as a double for Dick Van Dyke in various driving scenes. Pierre acquired the car when filming finished in the late 1960's and it has been in his possession ever since.

Chitty still continues to draw huge crowds, even 40 years after the film was released. Due to Chitty's worldwide popularity, the car can regularly be seen at promotional launches, exhibitions and charity events both in the UK and overseas. No exception is made for Chitty with regard to safety - like any other road-going vehicle the annual MOT test has to be undertaken.
